Manitoba’s appeal lies in its phenomenal natural attractions, which quite simply are off-the-scale, bucket-list worthy.
In the far north, on the frozen shores of Hudson Bay, sits an unassuming little town called Churchill, accessible only by air and rail, it’s also known as the ‘Polar Bear Capital of the World’. Here, on the arctic tundra summer wildflowers bloom, beluga whales gather in their thousands and in the autumn, polar bears assemble on the shoreline, waiting for the winter sea ice to freeze. In the skies overhead the northern lights perform their graceful dance.
For summer visitors to Churchill, varied touring options mean you can combine the exceptional birdlife with beluga experiences and a polar bear walking safari. For those who dream of seeing polar bears in their natural, frozen environment then the ‘official’ polar bear season runs through October and November. Base yourself in Churchill, before heading out onto the tundra each day on specially adapted vehicles to spot the bears, or choose a remote, wilderness lodge for a unique experience.
The city of Winnipeg is the provincial capital and a great launch pad for exploring the rest of Manitoba. The city is renowned for its cultural attractions including the Forks National Historic Site, Winnipeg Art Gallery and Manitoba Museum of Man and Nature. It’s also home to a thriving food scene that showcases both Manitoban and ethnic cuisine and a host of independent beverage outlets. Just under an hour from the city you’ll find Lake Winnipeg, a vast inland lake home to beautiful, sandy beaches and an abundance of wildlife.
Churchill for a few weeks of the year is home to polar bears as they wait for the pack ice to form.

Riding Mountain National Park
Day 1
Depart Winnipeg and drive to Riding Mountain National Park and check into your accommodation.
Day 2
Spend the day hiking one of the many trails over 400 km of them.
Day 3
Today see Bison and other wildlife, flora and fauna up close on a driving safari.
Day 4
Return back to Winnipeg
Gimli
Day 1
Depart Winnipeg and drive to Gimli and check into your accommodation.

Spend the day learning about the Icelandic Heritage of this town.

Spend the day relaxing on the shores of Lake Winnipeg.
