Day 1 UK/Levi

Flying out to Kittilä you’ll be met at the airport by a private driver who’ll bring you to your accommodation. Day 2 Northern Lights cruise

Today, after breakfast you’ll have some more time to explore. Then, come the evening, it’s time to head out in search of the Northern Lights. After an included transfer you’ll board a pontoon ferry to head out onto a nearby lake, gently drifting along as eyes turn skywards in search of the aurora’s celestial dance among the bright stars. As you go, you can warm up in the ferry’s cosy little sauna or by the deck’s campfire, sipping hot beverages while cooking your own sausages and tucking into crepes.

Day 3 Glass Igloo

Whether it’s a photography course, trip to a husky farm or simply a walk in the woods, you’ll have some more free time to take in autumn’s charm this morning. Then, after dinner, you’ll be met by a private driver who’ll bring you to your unique accommodation – a glass igloo resplendent in ultra-modern design. Lying back, you’ll be perfectly positioned to take in unobstructed views of the Northern Lights, your motorised bed tilting to take in their magical display.

Following a last indulgent breakfast, a private transfer will see you back to the airport for your flight home.

Day 1 SnowHotel

Flying out to Rovaniemi in Finnish Lapland, you’ll be transferred the short distance north to the Arctic SnowHotel where you'll check in to your first night’s accommodation – the stunning SnowHotel. Here, you’ll sleep on a transparent bed of ice under delicately hewn ceilings, raised into intricate frescoes. Carefully chosen lighting sets it all aglow. Although temperatures range between zero and minus five degrees, you’ll be kept warm with an Arctic sleeping bag and even receive a certificate for your troubles. Before you settle in for the night, an included tour will introduce you to the SnowHotel's unique construction. Perhaps you'll enjoy dinner at Kota Restaurant for Lappish delicacies served around the roaring fire of a traditional hut; don’t miss out on the indulgent desserts or reindeer steak, served in a red wine sauce. Perhaps cap it all off with a visit to the Ice Bar for drinks served in frozen glasses.

Day 2 Glass Igloo

Following a hearty breakfast, you'll swap over to your glass-igloo home for a two-night stay. And what nights they’ll be, with the chance to watch the Northern Lights play out right above your head, framed by your igloo’s thermally heated domed glass. There’s even an aurora alarm service that can be turned on for those not wanting to miss out on any midnight colours. The rest of the day is left free for optional excursions, with such winter classics as husky sledding, ice fishing and husky sledding making the most of your spectacular Arctic location.

Santa Lapland Day Trip

With Christmas approaching time for many is limited.

But what better way to get the grown ups and children excited for the big day than to take a day trip to see Santa in his home. Meet the reindeer, be pulled along by huskies and have a go at snowmobiling. Regional departures.

Santa Lapland Short Break

Day 1

Air traffic control prevents Santa from living near a major airport, so our flights take you via Helsinki before connecting to the tiny remote town of Kittilä, deep in the Arctic Circle. From here you’ll be transferred to Hotel Harriniva, a cosy wilderness retreat, tucked away on the Finnish border.

Day 2

After breakfast, transfer to a local reindeer farm to meet the reindeer, where you will have an opportunity to feed them, learn how to lasso and experience a short reindeer sled ride. After lunch in the ice restaurant, head for the husky farm for a guided tour and a chance to meet the adorable puppies. Then, hop on a sled and enjoy an adrenaline-filled six-kilometre husky safari.

Day 3

The surrounding wilderness is a magical expanse of fir trees, needles and branches hanging heavy with snow, a white blanket that muffles sound and creates an ambience unique to the Arctic. Pause for a short break to bake Finnish cookies and make a Christmas stocking, before continuing with adventures in the snow. Try your hand at snowshoeing, ice fishing or zooming down the toboggan slope. Children will also have a chance to drive their own mini snowmobile, under supervision of course. And, on one evening, you’ll make your way on a sled through the forest to visit Santa Claus himself in his log cabin. An elf will greet you and lead you to meet Santa, who will hear all your Christmas requests and maybe even hand out a few early presents to well-behaved guests. If you’re especially good, you might just be rewarded with a glimpse of the Northern Lights as you return to the hotel.

Day 4

Say a fond farewell to Santa, Rudolph and the elves as you head for home, filled with Christmas memories.
